Giving for Good

Employee Giving

The employees of Arroyo Grande Community Hospital touch the lives of patients every day. They are there to offer support, encouragement, comfort, and quality care to patients and families when they need it most. In addition to the lifesaving care they provide, many employees participate in the Employee Circle of Friends, a giving program that provides an opportunity for employees to support hospital projects and programs they feel most passionate about.

Since the program began in 2007, employees have given over $800,000 through the Circle of Friends! In 2021, employees can choose to support Surgical Services, the Behavioral Health Evaluation Team Fund, the Cancer Care Fund, the Nursing Education Fund, the Employee Assistance Fund or where the need is greatest with their gifts. Employee support of these programs demonstrates their appreciation for their workplace and community, as well as an understanding of the need for continued advancements at the hospital.

“The main reason that my family gives is that we know it supports a good cause, and that the funds stay in our community,” said Kurt Ramey, Director of Radiology and Employee Outreach Committee Co-Chair. “The Circle of Friends is truly just that – friends of each other, friends of the hospital, and friends of patients and families.”

In 2018, employees in the Circle of Friends gave over $108,465 to support their workplace, each other, and the patients they serve. Currently, 36 percent of the hospital’s employees contribute to the Circle of Friends, and 19 percent are also members of a special group called the Hour of Power – a group whose donations are made by contributing an hour of their pay each pay period. The Circle of Friends continues to grow each year as employees realize the difference they can make together.

There are several ways to join the Employee Circle of Friends.

Thank you to all employees that contribute to the Circle of Friends – your support is a true demonstration of Humankindness.
