The Amazing Grace Legacy Society

David Brandin

David and Ellen Brandin joined Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation’s Amazing Grace Legacy Society after a great experience inspired them to make a planned gift through their estate.

David didn’t know what to expect when he was informed by his surgeon, Dr. Laird, that his knee surgery would take place at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital (AGCH), which he considered a small community hospital. However, he was thrilled with the quality of care he received. He said, “I received the same – if not better – care at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital than I have at bigger renowned hospitals, but with all the small-town benefits.”

After his exceptional experience, David wanted to give back. He had spent years volunteering with professional organizations, but felt a desire to find a new way to give. David decided that a monetary gift would be a valuable alternative to volunteering, and the Foundation helped him find a way to give that worked for him. He was surprised to learn how easy it was to contribute through his estate. “The Foundation made it easy to make a donation to the hospital. Making a bequest was painless!”
