Donation to Coastal Cancer Care and Diagnostic Center
Since the official announcement of Arroyo Grande Community Hospital’s plans for the new Coastal Cancer Care and Diagnostic Center, community financial support continues to be outstanding. The $10,000 donation Rabobank, N.A. was recently gave to the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation for the new cancer center.
On December 11, 2007 AGCH Foundation received its largest financial donation in its history from three local families for its cancer campaign. The three donations of $250,000 each and totaling $750,000 were donated by Robin and Stephanie Ventura, Nick and Kathy Tompkins and Carrol and Joan Pruett. Including the generous donation from Rababank, an additional $200,000 has been raised for the center to date. The Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Coastal Cancer Care and Diagnostic Center located in Pismo Beach, will be a facility fully equipped to care for local cancer patients and their families.
The new center is fully supported by local physicians and specialists. It will foster a multidisciplinary team approach to cancer care, allowing physicians to coordinate a patient’s treatment plan resulting not only in better patient outcomes, but also a more comprehensive healing experience. The AGCH Coastal Cancer Care and Diagnostic Center will include digital mammography with stereo-tactic biopsy, MRI and PET/CT scanning. It will also provide ancillary services such as nutritional education, spiritual counseling and other social support.
